He could tap into white backlash, or he could pivot to get moderate Dems on board. Any option is really free, as there is no way he can lose. Dan Quayle is a great choice for Vice-President - on paper. I mean, he does have some good things about him, he turns out the base, he's young, and he's a Reaganite.
