Incumbent George W. Bush has overseen a turbulent time in America's history, with a conservative agenda, 9/11, and a war in Iraq all leaving lasting legacies - he seeks to be re-elected. Meanwhile, a Democratic Party looking to correct the mistakes of 2000 has offered a candidate, Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman - Gore's running mate in 2000.
Thank you for playing my 7th mod.
I hope you enjoyed it, and I'm especially happy on how the Code 1 came out.
Joseph Isadore Lieberman is a boring and uninspiring candidate, and is the very definition of the 'establishment'. Or at least that's what folks thought when they saw him in 2000, but he's made some changes since then. Despite his views putting him as more of a moderate Democrat - being one of the most bipartisan members of the senate - Joe is irrefutably liberal on Gay Rights, Climate Change, Gun control, and legalizing stem cell research. If elected, he would become the first Jewish president aswell.
Unfortunately for Joe, his avid hawkishness and support of the ongoing war in Iraq along with his good relationship with beltway Republicans have alienated key Democratic groups. Also, his support for NAFTA will also hit him in the Industrial Midwest. He also isn't the most charismatic either.","color_hex":"#2c61d1","secondary_color_hex":null,"is_active":1,"image_url":"https://i.imgur.com/HQjWXRx.png","electoral_victory_message":"
George Walker Bush is the incumbent President, and aims to be re-elected this year. His term in office so far has been full of ups and downs, with his domestic legacy for the most part sidelined, apart from some achievements such as No Child Left Behind, which standardized national tests, and some reforms to social security.
But the real kicker is foreign policy. 9/11 was a terrible tragedy, no debate about that, but it opened an opportunity for Bush and his cabal of hawks, an opportunity to invade Iraq and take out Saddam! and I guess find Osama in Afghanistan too, I guess. But Iraq is our main priority!","color_hex":"#bf1b1b","secondary_color_hex":null,"is_active":1,"image_url":"https://i.imgur.com/OrBvDgo.png","electoral_victory_message":"
When the final returns for 2000 came in, and the months long legal battle in Florida ensued, Nader was left holding the bag for Gore's 535 loss to Bush - and he paid dearly for it. He lost support, people withdrew sponsorships, and some even went as far as to discredit him and his work. It left him uneasy with his current situation, and he even wondered whether or not he should even run in 2004. But all that changed when Joe Lieberman won the Democratic nomination.
Lieberman's ascendancy has given a sudden surge in popularity and support to the Green party once again, causing the party to hover around the 4% mark - a crazy margin. However, mainstream liberal support of Lieberman is boiling over, and Nader should watch out for any potential Democratic splinters.","color_hex":"#5bbe44","secondary_color_hex":null,"is_active":1,"image_url":"https://i.imgur.com/KjA6ovv.png","electoral_victory_message":"
Libertarian Nominee in 2004. He did some stuff probably idk.","color_hex":"#d4b52f","secondary_color_hex":null,"is_active":0,"image_url":"https://i.imgur.com/PGMGNhX.png","electoral_victory_message":"
Daniel Robert \"Bob\" Graham is the former governor and the current senator of Florida. You owe Graham a great deal, as right before the vital Iowa caucus, he dropped out in support of you - following some behind-the-scenes concessions - Graham would reinforce your image as a moderate, sensible leader along with giving Florida a much-wanted boost.
Although, while no sane wing of the party would oppose Graham, his selection would still come off as a bit of a dud. Graham would fail to bring any energy to the ticket, and his age and health will certainly come up. Despite those, it would still be a net positive to choose Graham because if you win Florida, there is very little stopping you from winning the election. He also voted against the Iraq War, so there would be some awkward tension between you two.","color_hex":"#0000ff","secondary_color_hex":null,"is_active":0,"image_url":"https://i.imgur.com/PfmNff6.png","electoral_victory_message":"

Originally, you sent for Mary Landrieu of Louisiana to be your running mate, but she declined unfortunately, siting her re-election to her seat, but she nudged you to her coworker, John Berlinger Breaux. Breaux has accepted the position should he be picked, and would re-enforce your moderate and bipartisan views along with certainly helping in the south and Louisiana.
Unfortunately though, Breaux is just about the last option the liberal wing of the party is looking for, a southern conservative with a bipartisan streak. You would run the risk of seriously hemorrhaging support to Nader, and core Democratic turnout would be severly suppressed. But if you really want to win Louisiana and make the south close, then Breaux is for you.","color_hex":"#0000ff","secondary_color_hex":null,"is_active":0,"image_url":"https://i.imgur.com/J0YZAHM.png","electoral_victory_message":"

Richard Joseph Durbin is the incumbent senator of Illinois, and one of the few liberal-minded senators that you were able to coerce into being your running mate. Durbin would offer a lot of ideological contrast to you, and is well-respected by his colleagues. His vote against the war in Iraq could also calm fears about your hawkish views, and assauge the doves in the party. He could also help out in the Midwest, Ohio being in contention this year.
While Durbin did accept your request to be your running mate, he wouldn't give the ticket his all, accepted more out of duty than anything. His liberal views would also make it harder to crack the south. But some party leaders are urging you to pick him just to throw a bone to the liberals regardless.","color_hex":"#0000ff","secondary_color_hex":null,"is_active":0,"image_url":"https://i.imgur.com/PNPEKZM.png","electoral_victory_message":"
